Wow! Someone leaked a photo of me eating spaghetti!

But seriously, in front of you is a secretary bird. This rather unusual member of the hawk family grows up to 1.5 meters in length and weighs over 4 kilograms. With such dimensions, the wingspan of secretary birds reaches 2 meters. However, they rarely use them.

These birds prefer to walk and run across the savanna, and in order to take off, they need to expend a lot of energy, as well as have a large "runway."

Mostly, these birds lead a terrestrial lifestyle, trampling everything around. With powerful leg strikes, secretary birds catch lizards, small mammals, and venomous snakes. The secretary especially loves the last ones. To protect themselves from deadly bites, the predator defends itself with long, swaying feathers, covering itself during the reptile's attack. After the opponent has released all its venom, the secretary tramples the snake with its feet.

By the way, we made our own cartoon about these birds a long time ago. Highly recommend watching it!
